"Educational Processes in Life Course-specific Learning Environments" focuses on the theoretical foundations and empirical implementation in surveying characteristics of learning opportunities in relevant learning environments that can affect skill acquisition and educational processes. Learning environments are conceptualized as providers of learning opportunities that can be used by learners to acquire skills and competencies. Learning environments are divided into three domains in the National Educational Panel: formal (e.g. school, training position, university), non-formal (e.g. child and youth welfare services, of clubs and religious communities) and informal (e.g. family, peers, media) learning environments.
NEPS units The NEPS units are composed of eight educational stages, each of which brings an age-specific perspective to the NEPS, as well as six pillars that deal with the cross-life-course collection of survey content on the core topics of the NEPS. In addition, units with overarching and fundamental tasks complement the organizational structure of the multilocal network. all NEPS units
