Data and Documentation

The Scientific Use Files of the different starting cohorts of the National Educational Panel Study (NEPS) constitute the core of LIfBi's research data portfolio. This core data is supplemented by special NEPS data products as well as by research data from other longitudinal studies such as the ReGES refugee study, the BiLO regional study, the GUS study on pupils' health behavior and the time series of times tables on political education.

Variable Search

A specially created online portal is available to systematically search for suitable variables and relevant constructs in the large databases of the Scientific Use Files of NEPS, ReGES and so on. This portal enables a structured search in the German- and English-language metadata via (a) self-selected terms, (b) a hierarchically sorted list of topics and (c) various filter options. Additional information such as answer schemes, question texts, text sources, measurement times and datasets can be viewed for all variables.
