Overview of all Scientific Use Files

The Research Data Center at LIfBi provides the scientific community free of charge with carefully prepared and documented survey data from various studies in the form of Scientific Use Files (SUF). This page lists all SUF with their respective DOI, publication date and relevant field times.

The NEPS, with its starting cohorts from newborns to adults, is the largest long-term educational study in Germany. Over 100,000 people have been and are being followed on their educational trajectories and in the development of their competences. The NEPS data are available for research purposes as cumulative published Scientific Use Files.

ReGES | Refugees in the German Educational System

The ReGES study focuses on the question under which conditions the integration of refugees into the German education system can succeed. For this purpose, children (RC1) and adolescents (RC2) from refugee families were and are interviewed and tested over several years; supplemented by information from parents and relevant context persons. The data is available to researchers as a cumulated published Scientific Use Files.

BiLO | BildungsLandschaft Oberfranken

Using Upper Franconia as an example, the BiLO project addressed the interplay between education and space. Two waves of a population survey plus online surveys with selected education providers were carried out to investigate the links between individual educational decisions and perceived educational opportunities, taking social space into account. The data is available in one Scientific Use File for research purposes.

GUS | Health Behavior and Injuries in School Age

The GUS study aims to identify and investigate accidents and injuries in the school context. As part of a nationwide panel survey with around 10,000 pupils, accident patterns in school sports, in the schoolyard, in the school building and on the way to school as well as general education-related factors are explored. The data is compiled in one Scientific Use File and available to researchers.

HISPOL | History of Political Education

The HISPOL data collected as part of a study cover the extent of political education (hours per week) in all German federal states and all types of general education schools since the founding of the Federal Republic of Germany (1949-2019). The data, which is freely available for download, is based on an analysis and preparation of historical timetables.
