Representatives of the Australian longitudinal study Growing Up in Australia visit NEPS

Joanne Corey and Michelle Marquardt from the Australian longitudinal study Growing Up in Australia - The Longitudinal Study of Australian Children were guests at NEPS in Bamberg from October 23 to 26, 2012.

During their stay, they presented the longitudinal study in a first lecture ("Background to the Longitudinal Study of Australian Children and policy relevance and uses") and went into detail on central research questions. In addition, Joanne Corey and Michelle Marquardt reported on the influence of research findings on social and, in particular, family policy decisions of the Australian government.

The second presentation, on "Tracking, sample retention, and engagement strategies in the Longitudinal Study of Australian Children," provided further insight into the design of the study and the development of the panel sample. The presentation provided in-depth insights into the wide-ranging measures that have been developed and are being used as part of panel maintenance to continue to motivate study participants to participate in the study.
