NEPS presented itself at the ASA 2011 in Las Vegas

Within the framework of the initiative „Research in Germany“ of the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research, the National Educational Panel Study presented itself from 20th to 23th August at the 106th annual meeting of the American Sociological Association (ASA) in Las Vegas together with other German panel studies.

The National Educational Panel Study (NEPS) presented itself – supported by the German Research Foundation  – to an international audience of scientists under the title „Longitudinal Data Resources for the Social Sciences“. SOEP, SHARE, PAIRFAM and NEPS are the four mayor large-scale longitudinal studies in German social sciences that provide a unique data infrastructure on topics like inequality, aging, living arrangements, and education. All four projects make their comprehensive data available to the scientific community thereby providing a well-founded basis for innovative, cross-national, and interdisciplinary research. The representatives of the four longitudinal studies seized the opportunity and established contacts  with  scientists from of all over the world  during a reception and at the convention booth.
