As a postdoc in Department 2 "Educational Decisions and Processes, Migration, Returns to Education", Gundula Zoch conducted research on the emergence and consequences of social inequality in employment and family work. Exemplary for this are various analyses on the consequences of the Corona pandemic, which have appeared in several LIfBi transfer reports, as well as her study on the differences that exist between East and West Germany with regard to prevailing role models. She received an award from the European Consortium for Sociological Research (ECSR) for her dissertation thesis, in which she examined the expansion of childcare in East and West Germany. In 2020, she also received the Bettina Paetzold Teaching Award from the University of Bamberg and was accepted into the Leibniz Association's mentoring programme for highly qualified female researchers.
