Dr. Kamila Cygan-Rehm's research focuses on applied microeconomics, mainly in the areas of education and labor market economics as well as public health and policy evaluation. Since October 2021, she leads the junior research group "Outcomes of Education Across the Lifespan" at the Leibniz Institute for Educational Trajectories (LIfBi). The group investigates the impact of education and lifelong learning on diverse aspects of the life course, such as labor market success, regional mobility, health and personality.
With the acceptance of the call to the newly established professorship at the Technical University of Dresden, Ms. Cygan-Rehm ends her leadership of the junior research group at LIfBi. Professor Cordula Artelt, Director of LIfBi, expressed her regret about Ms. Cygan-Rehm's departure, but particularly highlighted her excellent work during her time at LIfBi, "Kamila Cygan-Rehm has advanced valuable work in the economics of education with her group at LIfBi. The early call to TU Dresden shows that Ms. Cygan-Rehm is an outstanding research personality. I am delighted for her about this honor. At the same time, however, that she will continue the research collaborations with LIfBi!"
