To complement the classical data documentation and to prepare for the regularly conducted data training sessions, the FDZ-LIfBi offers a series of tutorials around the NEPS data. The previous videos mainly inform about the available data portfolio of the National Educational Panel and the data structures of the Scientific Use Files. With the publication of the new tutorials, concrete-practical instructions on how to use the NEPS data are also addressed for the first time. Interested parties receive instructions on how to use the CohortProfile data set, which is relevant for almost all analyses. In addition, they learn basic techniques for merging variables from different data sets (Merging Basics). And they learn more about systematic preparation for merging information while taking different data formats into account (Merging Checklist).
The series of NEPS tutorials will be continued in the future. The FDZ hopes you enjoy watching them and is happy to answer any questions or suggestions.
