"On behalf of the LIfBi Board of Directors and all our employees, I would like to congratulate Prof. Dr. Kai Fischbach on being elected. I wish him every success for his new role! We are sure that the close ties between the LIfBi and the University will be further strengthened and expanded. Together we will set up Bamberg as a research location for the future and further expand its outstanding importance in educational research. It is digitization, in particular, that Kai Fischbach has cited as a key challenge, and which is also going to take up considerably more room in research at LIfBi and in the National Education Panel Study.
I am looking forward to the impetus that Kai Fischbach will give to Bamberg as a location for research and higher education. At the same time, I would like to thank the outgoing President Prof. Dr. Dr. Godehard Ruppert for the close and trusted cooperation in recent years. He was instrumental in turning the National Education Panel Study—a former third-party funded project at the University of Bamberg—into an independent Leibniz Institute for Educational Trajectories; thus sending out a strong signal highlighting the excellent research carried out here at our University."
