The working unit “Software Development” is responsible for the design, provision, and ongoing maintenance of a user-friendly database for all users of the NEPS. Its core task is the development and operation of a data warehouse for the social sciences.  Among other things, this includes the development of social science data models, the design of data and metadata structures, the maintenance of metadata, the ongoing documentation of the database, as well as related reporting. Moreover, the working unit “Software Development” has built up a research data gateway for the National Education Panel Study, whose applications and user interfaces are constantly enhanced and optimized.
