The Finance/Controlling/Procurement department is responsible for financial accounting at the institute, preparing the annual financial statements and answering all tax-related questions. Furthermore, the area prepares the financial reports for budget control for the departments and work areas. Here, the work area supports the reporting and budget planning in the individual work areas.

Furthermore, the Finance/Controlling/Procurement department is responsible for the procurement of the entire institute as a procurement office. Within the framework of public tenders, national and EU-wide as well as direct awards and negotiated awards are carried out.

Since February 2022, the Leibniz Competence Center for Procurement (LKCB) of the Leibniz Association has been located at LIfBi and is supervised by the Finance/Controlling/Procurement department.
