Mission Statement Center for Study Management
The Data provided by the LIfBi—as a joint product of all LIfBi Departments and our various network partners—is an excellent foundation for national and international research on competence development and educational trajectories.
The Center for Study Management is in a key position in managing the generation of longitudinal data of studies at the LIfBi. In its five working units, it takes on tasks focusing on Survey Administration and Controlling, Survey Coordination, Study Communications, Data Protection in Surveys, and Survey Technology.
The aim of the joint work of all department members is to enable the generation of longitudinal data at a high level of quality for disciplinary and interdisciplinary research by means of science-based study management and the operation of corresponding infrastructure systems.
We take on custom-tailored infrastructure tasks, provide support, share our expertise, develop tools, and act in an outcome-oriented manner to conduct all studies in time, in cost, and in scope.
The working units of the Center for Study Management facilitate and supervise the implementation of large-scale studies, in particular the National Educational Panel Study (NEPS), which is unique worldwide in its methodological and organizational design, on a research-based and theory-driven scientific basis. In this way, they contribute significantly to the expansion of scientific knowledge regarding the implementation of such studies.
The focus of the Center for Study Management is on the processes and infrastructure work of data generation. The comprehensive data collection of the LIfBi panel studies is aligned with the quality criteria of time, cost, and scope.
